Then in August...

Us the night we DIDN'T get on the boat. Yes, you read right. We booked an overnight (which meant double the limit) halibut charter. And then we showed up and weren't on the manifest, and the boat was completely full! So, they put us up in the beauty of an apartment below for a night, refunded us our money, and took us out the next day for free! I'd say it was a pretty sweet deal!

In reality, one day was plenty! It was a beautiful afternoon!

George with one of his 'butts.

One day, we took a 2 hour rafting trip with the kiddos. They loved the *little* bit of rapids we went through (and which Kylee slept through!). Afterwards, we stopped at this little "lake" to let the kids fish...ie: put their pathetic little poles in the water!

Brady roaming the shore.

We spent an afternoon visiting the wildlife preserve near Portage, and stopped off at Portage Lake afterwards. I say lake, because the glacier is so far retreated that you can't even see it anymore! I remember as a kid that you could just walk up onto the ice!!

We spent a day late August at the State Fair, as usual. Koda could ride more of the big kid rides this year, and we had fun!

In August, my dad had an extra seat in the plane going out to Silver Salmon Creek...aka-bear viewing! George and Brady hopped in and went to check the bears out for the day.

In reality, Brady was more interested in throwing rocks in the water than looking at the bears :)

Sorry they're out of order....but you'll have to deal! This is the fair again!

Even Kylee, who mostly stayed in her carseat, loved the fair.

Brayden with what he calls his "dinosaur hair". I think he thinks it looks like a stegosaurus.

My handsome little Kodabug!
